Day 2 - "B"

I've coloured this golden bell with distress inks and a watercolour brush, using a technique I like to call "slap happy watercolour". As the name implies, I simply slap on the colour with little concern for staying inside the lines or worrying about mixing paint. Once dry, I add a second layer for some shadows and shaping.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "B" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Blitzen, boots, bows, box cards, bendy cards, building block cards, bleaching, beads, brads, burnishing, blue, brown, black, baubles

A beautiful, bright and cheery Christmas card, Beccy! I love the layering both in the card and the image. I'll have to try that technique you described. Beautifully colored!

GORGEOUS card Beccy!

"Slap Happy" style sounds rather messy but yours is far from it, it looks magical, like a vintage Christmas card => LOVE IT!

... another technique to add to my "make-it-like Beccy list" :)

Gosh this is so pretty. When you say you just "slap on the colour" it makes me feel like I could do it to.

I love the effect of this technique. I somehow think if I was to attempt this it wouldn't turn out as good as this.

I've always liked math and especially the geometry!
I succeeded a globe from a pentagon and on my agenda the next basic geometry for a globe is the hexagon.
I like your image because is bright and generates good vibes. Probably because your technique style: 'slap happy watercolour". I'll think about it...
Hugs and inspiration to all creators that want to play and slap!

Love this, Beccy. Also love your 'slap on the colour' term and technique. A great incentive to give it a try and let go of my perfectionism, which tends to stop me from trying sometimes.

Hi Beccy, I posted a card (no. 79) and I thought I had added my name but it just says 'p' when it should say Pat..don't know if you can correct it. It isn't one of your images but hope this is OK. I love your watercolour bells on that pretty shaped card..a real beauty. Thanks for having this challenge again this year...this will help us all along with our Christmas card quota. x
