Day 2 - "B"

I've coloured this golden bell with distress inks and a watercolour brush, using a technique I like to call "slap happy watercolour". As the name implies, I simply slap on the colour with little concern for staying inside the lines or worrying about mixing paint. Once dry, I add a second layer for some shadows and shaping.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "B" as your prompt.

Day 25 - "W"

I often use my water based ink pads as a colouring medium for my stamps by laying some of the ink down on an acrylic block and then picking it up again with a water brush. You can intensify the colour by adding additional layers of ink once the first layer has dried.

Day 29 - "Z"

I love Z-fold cards! They're easy to make and decorate and they look great when stood open for display. The only thing better than a Z-fold card is a double Z-fold, and the only thing better than that is two of them!

Day 11 - "J"

It's J-Day and I'm going with a jingling silver bell.
I've kept my palette restricted to a combination of black and white alcohol markers and coloured pencils. I like the neutral tones combined with the brushed silver card stock, which I've embossed with an old folder I've had for many years. A double organza bow finishes my card nicely and adds a little more shine.

Day 26 - "W"

I cut a window from my white card stock, embossed some winter snowflakes on my background and then added a generous helping of Wink of Stella for some sparkle and shine. I'd like to say that I had all that well planned in advance, but really, I only realised I had all the extra "w"s after I finished my card. Initially, it was all about the Wink of Stella... the rest was a happy accident!

Day 15 - "M"

Today is "M" day and for me that means monochrome. I've used only black and white pencils on a piece of dark blue card stock to colour this Christmas bell. The sparkle is from a generous application of Wink of Stella... my favourite sparkly medium.  "M" also means we're now halfway through the alphabet and halfway through our November Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. Can you believe it?!

Day 9 - "H"

With holly on the background paper, holly in the image, and more holly as an embellishment, we're looking at a complete, unashamed, paper-crafted holly-fest of epic proportions! And just in case you missed it, my theme for today's letter prompt is holly

Day 18 - "P"

One of my favourite mediums, which also happens to start with the letter "P", is coloured pencil. Since I used Prismacolor Pencils to colour my image, which is two "P"s, I think I should receive double points... and that entitles me to a bonus cookie for morning tea. Right?

Day 12 - "J"

Although not the most difficult letter of the alphabet, "J" is a little on the tricky side when it comes to holiday themed cards.... thank goodness for jingling bells!

Day 2 - "B"

Today is all about the letter "B"... one of my personal favourites 😉. There are lots of words starting with B that relate in some way to card making or the holidays, so it wasn't too difficult to complete today's project. As you can see from the photo below, I decided to create a card featuring a beautiful brass bell.

New Release: Christmas Bells Set

The Christmas Bells set of clear stamps features two traditional holiday images that are perfect for cards with a slightly vintage flavour. They are great for card makers who love to colour and they also work well for paper tole projects.

Some of my designers have used the set to make gorgeous holiday projects for friends and family. I'm sure you'll find some inspiration in what they've done.

Both of Carla's cards are beautifully traditional with rich, deep greens and beautiful shades of red. She coloured the images with pencil and matched them with an assortment of patterned papers, embellishments and ribbons.

Petra made this wonderful, triangular-shaped treat box from hand-painted card stock. She decorated it with the little jingle bell stamped in blue ink, coloured and fussy cut with a small pair of scissors. The twine and tag finish her project perfectly.

Both of Anesha's cards have a gorgeous vintage quality that works perfectly with the traditional style of the images. The colours she chose are wonderfully rich and vibrant with a definite old world feel.
