Wonderfully white and wintry, Beccy. Your embossed tree reminds me of a very CAS baby card I made many years ago, using one of those old-fashioned metal embossing plates (featuring tiny baby feet) and a light box.

Day 27 - "X"

I'm curious to see what everyone does for today's letter prompt... "X" is definitely a challenge! Happily, I found a nice new packet of X-Press It blending card in my stash.

YOUR TURN: Create a holiday card using the letter "X" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:
X-Press It blending card, Xmas, xyron
(let me know if you can think of any others)

DELIGHTFUL images, sentiments and cards to INSPIRE!
... sadly they remind me of my one (and only) time ice skating, where my battered and bruised body spent most of the time flat on the ice :)

New Release: Sugar and Spice

If snowmen are my favourite Christmastime characters, then gingerbread men are a very close second. They look cute and smell wonderful, and dare I say it, they taste even better! This new set contains three gingerbread characters and five coordinating sentiments. Shipping is free to Australia and New Zealand, and just $2.00AU to anywhere else in the world.

My designers have created some wonderful projects with this new set. Check out the different ways they have interpreted the images, the colouring and techniques are fabulous!

Three cards from Petra

Two cards and a wall hanging by Anesha

Two cards from Carla

Day 26 - "W"

I love the beauty and simplicity of white on white cards, it's one of my favourite techniques. I suppose I can't really claim that my cards are purely white on white given they also include some silver... but they're pretty close.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "W" as your prompt.
Click on the link to upload a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Wise Men, winter, wreath, workshop, wrapping paper, wonder, waterfall card, window card, watercolour, watermarks, wax resist, weaving, white.

Beautiful!
Under the mistletoe works for me ... I can't see any way we could be using ukuleles or unicorns :)

Day 24 - "V"

"V" is one of those tricky letters that take some thinking time and a little bit of interpretation. I've used the word vintage as the prompt for my card today, which to me, means lots of muted colours and classic patterns.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "V" as your prompt.

Vintage, Vixen, visitors, view-master card, Venetian blind card, velvet, vermilion, violet, verdigris.

Awesome idea to print on kraft, love the look! I have colored over pre-colored images (this month, a few times because my color ink was low and I couldn't throw any of your images away)!

Day 23 - "U"

Okay, so I might have been a little bit generous with my interpretation of today's letter. But in my defence, "U" is a hard one! I've gone with Under the Mistletoe.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "U" as your prompt.
Click on the link to add a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
unwrap, under the tree, under the mistletoe, upright diamond fold card, umber, ultramarine, unbleached titanium

I so love snowflakes! We once rented a small bus. The weather was very hot and we couldn't find the AC. When we returned the bus we reported it to the garage. They looked surprised and pointed to a button with a snowflake....we just searched for the letters AC. Since I adore snowflakes.
Enjoy your day!
xxx Margreet

Day 22 - "T"

Today I have a tutorial to share with you that's all about adding a bit more oomph to your pre-coloured digital stamps. You'll need a printed, pre-coloured image and your choice of colouring medium. I've gone with a little snowman printed on kraft coloured card stock and I'm using Prismacolor pencils. For the best results, don't forget to choose the right paper for the colouring medium you're using.

1. Print your pre-coloured image onto card stock and select your colouring medium. Try to match the colours of your pencils or markers to the colours that are already in the image. You won't have much success colouring a red hat over black printer ink!

2. Now pick an area to start colouring and apply a very light layer. (If you're colouring with pencils, don't press too firmly. If you're colouring with markers or paints, select a very light shade.) Go in again and add some darker colour (by pressing more firmly on your pencil or choosing a darker paint or marker) in the areas that would be in shadow. Remember that the pre-coloured stamp will more than likely have the shadowing and highlighting done for you, so you don't need to be particularly fussy.

3. Now repeat the process for the other areas of the image until it's fully coloured. This is a great technique for practising your colouring skills or for boosting your printed images... especially when the printer is a little lack lustre.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "T" as your prompt.

We Broke The Record!

Woohoo!!

Comment Winner - Day 20

Congratulations Kathy!

How fun. I saw this opportunity in the nick of time (or, in honor of the season maybe I should say the Nicholas of time?!) And just made it in as #424. (Thanks, Beccy. You are always so generous!)

Day 21 - "S"

It's another easy letter today - there are lots of great "S" words that relate to the holidays, including snow, for those in the northern hemisphere, or sunshine, for those in the south. Even though I live in Australia, where there isn't a hint of snow to be seen at this time of year, I've still gone with snowflakes. Mostly because of these gorgeous stickers that my Mum-in-law sent me last year... how could I resist?

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "S" as your prompt.
Click on the link to upload a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Santa, stockings, star, snowman, shepherd, s-fold card, shutter card, shaped card, step card, star fold, scallops, stitching, sponging, stamping, stencils, scarlet, sepia, silver.

I must admit, I very briefly considered teaching myself how to quill. And you do have a digi with ink and a quill, or any of the feathers in the feather set could be used as a quill to write Santa a letter. I also considered adding some Christmas decorations to Nell's quaint little cottage. Your group of snowmen that spell JOLLY would make a fine quintuplet, too. What a quintessential challenge you have given us. It's really quite a lot of fun. Okay. I'll quit now. Hugs, Debi

Day 20 - "R"

Santa's reindeer are easily the hardest working critters come Christmas Eve. Along with cookies and milk for Santa, we always make sure to leave out a few juicy carrots and a big bowl of water for his hard-working team.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "R" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Reindeer, Rudolph, red, rejoice, reunion, rocker card, ribbons, rubber stamps, royal blue, ruby.

Day 19 - "Q"

It's another hard one today... the letter "Q".
I decided to use up some scraps of Christmas paper to created a quilted background for my card. It was either that, or quickly acquire some quilling skills!

PERFECT poinsettias Beccy!
LOVE your colouring and design - WOW - so ELEGANT!
I remember our 1st trip to FNQ and we just HAD to take photos in front of HUGE poinsettia bushes. After only seeing them in "pot" size every Christmas it was almost magical :)

Day 18 - Sketch Challenge
