Margie's Christmas Freebie

One of the lovely ladies at my stamping club, Margie, asked me to make a Christmas design similar to the other word art I did earlier this year.  She likes to print the designs on vellum, tear the edges and then apply them to her card fronts.  So in her honour, I have this free image for you to share.

Christmas preparations are in full swing at my house, although I have yet to drag out the tree and decorations, I do have a healthy stash of hand-made cards ready to go.  I've really enjoyed making a few cards each month, it seems to keep Christmas close and I don't have to contend with that last minute scramble to make enough cards for all my lovely friends and family.

Merry Christmas Word Image

I don't use a lot of black on Christmas cards, I've always felt it too somber a colour for such a festive occasion.  Lately however, I have enjoyed the simplicity and elegance of black... not in large quantities but just enough to make a bold statement.  I have so enjoyed working with this image (if I may say so myself) that I ended up making a stack of the simple Christmas cards shown at the bottom of this post.

Viv created this gorgeous card by inking the embossing

folder before running the card stock through.

Eret has used some cute little pine cones and dimensional

paint for a wonderful woodlands-look card.

I created a very simple card with a punched snowflake border.

November Challenge

The November challenge is up and running! Create a card or project using any of the Beccy's Place images, free or purchased, upload a photo of it to your blog and then submit a direct link below.

You can enter as many times as you like so long as each card is unique and posted as a separate entry, and you can submit your card to any other challenge blog you wish. I really like word images for quick and simple cards.  They can be printed out quite large to fill an entire card front or quite small to use as a little embellishment.  You can even print it multiple times and layer up certain sections for a 3D effect, as I did in the pink card below.

More Cards...

Yesterday I posted some cards made using the new Sentiment Mini Set, and today I have a few more that I would like to share with you.  The first three were put together by Eret and feature the "Sorry", "Good Luck" and "I Miss You" digital stamps.

 

The three cute cards above were created by Eret,

who chose to only use the images.

 

The remaining five cards are ones that I made

using the sentiment along with the image.

Sentiment Mini Set

Over the last couple of weeks my designers and I have been working on a big set of little images!  The Sentiment Mini Set contains 20 images, each with it's own little sentiment in plain text below the image.  They are simple to colour and designed so that they are generally easy to layer for great 3D effects, plus they can be used as tiny little images for those who like simple, clean cards, or as larger pictures for full sized projects.

Today I'm going to show you the cards that Vivien and Cheryl have created with some of the images in the set.  Tomorrow I'll post some examples from Eret and myself using some of the other designs.

 All Beccy's Place images come with a black and white line drawing as well as a colour version.  This set contains 20 black and white line drawings and 20 coloured images.

 

Vivien created the six gorgeous cards above.

 

Cheryl made these three wonderful cards using multiple copies of each image.

Candy Canes

I had a wonderful time designing and then colouring these candy canes, adding lots of highlights to get everything looking shiny and festive.  We all used the coloured image on our projects this week, which is always included with every purchased design.

Vivien added a lovely paper bow to her Christmas card.

Eret dry embossed the background of her

card and added some glitter to the bow.

Cheryl built up the image with some foam tape

to give extra dimension to the candy canes.

I made several cards with this image using

different coloured cardstock and rhinestones.

Pears and Mistletoe

I love drawing and colouring pears and think they look great trimmed for Christmas with festive ribbons and foliage.  This image was really enjoyable to colour since there is so much open space and plenty of opportunity for shading and highlighting.

Daisy Jug

This week we are taking a brief respite from Christmas with some sunny, happy daisy images.  These flowers are perfect for almost any occasion and can be coloured to match your embellishments and papers or to personalise your project for someone special.
