Day 11 - "J"

My little blue jay is actually one of the cardinals from the Christmas cardinals digital set. By changing the colours and adding a few extra feathers I've been able to alter the image to look like a blue jay, which is very similar in body shape. To keep the monochromatic look, I coloured the berries in the same shades of blue and added some stippling to the background.

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "J" as your prompt.

It's gorgeous and so vibrant! Almost finished my card, started for E but it wasn't ready on time but luckely the sentiment I printed above the elf gets me to use it for J :)

This is my kind of card with blue berries instead of red. It is great to change the colours up sometimes.

A lovely monochromatic card. The blue is beautiful and the stippling looks very nice. I haven't done that in a long time. So, thanks for the inspiration. [Bunny]

I have this set and never thought to color it a completely different color. This is so pretty with the blue and silver. I have blue jays that come to our backyard. They are so elegant.

When I see this kind of blue I am thinking at international Klein blue,
created by Yves Klein. Lovely card indeed.

Wow! You are so clever. And what a great way to stretch your stamps! That's really thinking outside the box! We have lots of blue jays around. They can actually mimic other birds' calls so it fun to actually watch them to see just what they are going to "say." Gorgeous card! I need to use more embossing folders to get that gorgeous texture.

Wow, Beccy, what a brilliant way to turn a cardinal into a blue jay - it works! I love everything about this card! We see lots of blue jays in our yard and I still get excited every time I see one.

I never would have thought of coloring him blue, but it surely works! Turned out great!

What a great idea to use your fab cardinal and just colour him in blue. I had to take the dictionary to see the translation of blue jay and yes, they are also in the Netherlands! I have this digi set, so perhaps I make a blue jay too.

Your lovely blue jay is so vibrant and a great way of using images other than for that they are intended. It looks really effective on your crisp embossed background

How creative, Beccy! It takes true artist to make that transition. :-D Love the blue combo for Christmas/winter and the dry embossing is delightful.
