Day 16 - "N"

For today's "N" prompt, I've chosen no-line colouring. It's a technique where you stamp or print your image in very light coloured ink so that the lines virtually disappear when the image is coloured, giving you an artsy, hand-drawn look. You can find a tutorial under "Everything Papercraft" at the top of the page.

YOUR TURN: Create a card or project using the letter "N" as your prompt.

I love the layers and colors! Kitty is such a generous person, she was one of the very first people who connected with me when I started to make cards with always something sweet to say.

Everything Papercraft

Pop-up cards are fun to make and always popular as gifts. The idea is that a picture or sentiment “pops up” when the card is opened via a specially designed, built-in, fold that flattens out again once the card is closed. It makes what is usually a two-dimensional greeting card into a 3D creation with the use of cleverly placed cuts, folds, glue-ins and other moving parts.

There’s a host of techniques and methods for making these great gifts. Click on any of the photos below to check out a tutorial or search the internet for “pop-up cards”. You’re sure to find something that suits your needs.

Day 15 - "M"

Today is "M" day and for me that means monochrome. I've used only black and white pencils on a piece of dark blue card stock to colour this Christmas bell. The sparkle is from a generous application of Wink of Stella... my favourite sparkly medium.  "M" also means we're now halfway through the alphabet and halfway through our November Month of Holiday Cards Challenge. Can you believe it?!

YOUR TURN: Create a papercraft project using the letter "M" as your prompt.

That is such a fun sentiment, Beccy! I love this candy cane carrying kangaroo! I have never seen a kangaroo in real life so I think she is so cute and fun! I googled to see if male kangaroos have pouches and I learned that they do not - male kangaroos who want pockets simply have to wear pants!

Day 14 - "L"

Today's card is all about the layers - seven in total, including the base card and the die cut sentiment I've added over the image. I want to give a big shout-out to the lovely Fit Kitty for the "Cheer" sentiment she sent to me, as well as some gorgeous snowflake swags. Thanks again Kitty!

Beccy I have just left my job a the end of October. I had worked there for 8 years and in this last year my part time 3 days a week job has been 5 days and I am exhausted and had no joy in my life.
I am so happy that you are doing these challenges every day. I love making christmas cards the most as you can use lots of twinkle. Christmas is a season that brings me joy and for the first time this year I have TIME to make cards and find the joy in my life again.
Thankyou for the wonderful comments you leave on each entry, it truly makes my day.

Day 13 - "K"

A kangaroo with a pouch full of candy canes is truly a sight to behold! And just in case you're wondering, there really aren't too many kangaroos who are willing to pack themselves full of candy canes... even at Christmastime. Guess we'll just have to leave it up to good old Santa.

every where you go. You got me singing, hihihi!
Love song sentiments for Christmas cards, my card for today has one too :)
It's such a beautiful card and that cute couple looks so frosty, hope they can warm each other!

Day 12 - "J"

"J" is for JOY! In my experience, it's not hard to be happy when you've got a good supply of Christmas candy, a heartwarming movie on the television and nowhere to be for a few hours.

Many years ago I wrote a little tutorial on how to create these candies using a circle punch, a pencil and some alcohol markers. Here's a link for those who are interested:
