Excitement!

I love creating my own patterned paper, and with chisel-tip markers it's actually quite easy to do. Not only do you end up with a custom piece of paper, but also one that perfectly matches the other elements in your design.

Kicking Up Dust!

Kathy has a wicked sense of humour and always entertains me with her descriptions and "stories" of the cards she makes. I want to share a little excerpt from the email she sent along with this card, it's a great description of how her creative brain works.
...at the last minute I came up with the idea of adding some cotton “exhaust” because anyone named Clang is sure to love churning up a bit of exhaust or dust when making a fast get-away, right?!

Pop over to Kathy's blog to see some of her other creations!

Hot Tip Tuesday

A card box containing dividers for the months of the year is a great way to stay organised and make sure you never forget a special occasion. Fill it with cards for birthdays, anniversaries and graduations, all filed under the particular month they will occur. Include a few additional dividers for other cards, such as Thank Yous, Sympathy and Good Luck.

Easel Card

I figured that my hexagonal nesting dies would be the perfect choice for cutting my easel card since the shape resembles the head of a bolt. It was easy to place the cutting blade just over the edge of the fold to create the base card, and then layer it up with patterned papers and cardstock.

Congratulations!

Carla has used two of the little critters from the Chute! set of digital stamps to make these adorable baby cards. She coloured and fussy cut the images, keeping to a blue or pink colour scheme, and then matched them with some patterned paper and plain white cardstock.

I Forgot Your Birthday

Do you think a little elephant arriving by parachute would take the sting out of being forgotten on your birthday? Perhaps not... but it sure would distract you for a while and hopefully bring a smile to your face as well.

Happy Bot-Day

Jackie has coloured the little robots from the new Nuts 'N' Bolts set of digital stamps in pretty shades of blue, green and pink, and then coordinated them with fantastic industrial-looking die cuts. Multiple layers frame the different sections of her card perfectly.

February Challenge

Create a card or paper-craft project using any Beccy's Place image, upload a photo of it to your blog or other hosted site, and submit a direct link below. The challenge runs from now until midnight on the 28th of February 2022 (AEST).

To keep things interesting, I'll be adding an additional optional element to the monthly challenge. For February, we'll be "keeping it local". Try to include something that reminds you of your local area, such as a type of plant or animal, local cuisine, colours of the houses or building around you, etc. As always, keep in mind that the additional challenge is just an optional extra.

PLEASE READ THE CONDITIONS CAREFULLY
BEFORE ENTERING THE CHALLENGE
  • Entries that don't meet the conditions will be deleted from the challenge.
  • Your project must be created during the month of February 2022 and entered into the challenge during the active challenge period. Due to an automated system, late entries cannot be accepted.
  • Each month I will include a re-mastered digital image from my library of freebies as well as a bonus challenge, such as a card sketch, bingo grid, etc. You DO NOT have to use the image or bonus challenge on your project, but you MUST use a Beccy's Place image, either free or purchased, to be eligible for entry.
  • You can enter as many times as you like and you can submit your card to any other challenge you wish.
  • At the end of the month three random winners will be chosen to receive a $20.00AU store credit for any digital stamps at Beccy's Place. To redeem the store credit, winners must have a Beccy's Place customer account. (Please note, you do not need an account to enter the challenge. It is acceptable to create an account in the event that you win. Accounts can be closed at any time.)
  • Store credit won during any Beccy's Place challenge is only redeemable for digital stamps.
  • Entries can be uploaded to the challenge from any hosted site including blogs, online galleries, Google photos, etc. If you do not have access to a hosted site, please feel free to email your photos to me and I will add them from the Beccy's Place Guest blog.
  • Beccy's Place designers may enter the monthly challenge but are not eligible to win prizes.

All About The Background

The Coral Reef set features semi-silhouette images that are perfect for layering over beautiful backgrounds or pretty papers. For this card, I laid down a mixture of Distress inks with a blending brush then painted over the surface with clean water to leave a subtle wave pattern.
