Day 4 - "D"

It's "D" day, and for me that means a card featuring digital stamps and die cuts - two of my favourite card-making elements. I printed the kangaroo in a very light shade of grey, coloured it with alcohol markers for a no-line look, and then secured it on a die cut frame with foam tape.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "D" as your prompt.
Click the link below to add a photo of your creation to the challenge:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
December, decorations, Dasher, Dancer, Donder, Dutch-fold card, double diamond fold, diagonal tri-fold card, diamond glaze, die cutting, digital stamps, dimensional, dry embossing, distress ink, dark blue, deep red, doodling

Your cute kangaroo has the perfect pouch to stash his candy canes.

My hubby has lost a lot of weight and I have recently inherited his Adidas hoody which has a big pouch in it....maybe this is the perfect place to hide my candy canes :)

Great card, Beccy! I love the colours.
A kangaroo as a "Christmas animal" here in Europe, would really show how the climate is changing. Until today this autumn was the warmest ever!

I Like using digi images, especially yours since they come pre-colored. Which makes for a quicker card. Your kangaroo looks quite happy with his full pouch.

Sweet face on this kangaroo, have you pet one before? I have not ever seen one but if he had candy canes, I would think he's friendly!

Hi Mel. Yep, I've fed and patted kangaroos lots of times over the years. They are often kept in walk-through enclosures in zoos and animals parks because they're fairly calm when used to people. There are lots that live in the bushland around here too, so we see them all the time. I wouldn't approach a wild one though, they've got a good kick on them if they feel threatened. Mostly they just jump away.
Cheers,
Beccy

CONGRATULATIONS Sarah!

... oh my, I can TOTALLY relate to your recliner resisting your need to race ... I'm sure that they have a super slow speed setting they use just when you're in a hurry ... I'm thinking of getting my husband to do a good old "Tim the Toolman" upgrade to mine and give it a turbo charge button :)

Love your sweet. shy looking kangaroo with the candy canes in its pouch. It's beautifully coloured and you have used great cutting dies. That stamped sentiment is so cool. I have learned a lot about kangaroos thanks to your comment above.

Wat lief, die snoep in het buideltje, haha.
Ik zag de tekst erbij en moest even kijken waarom dit een kerstkaart kon zijn.
Heel leuk gemaakt.
Wat mooi de no-line techniek

What a cute kangaroo on your card ! These are such special animals! Here in Belgium we do not have animals 'in the wild' . Our "kangaroo" farms are filled with cows šŸ¤£
Love the soft red design paper and CAS layout. Creative regards, Gina

I love how you turn all the animals into Christmas animals!
Who would have thought of a Santa-Roo?
I will have to scratch out my South African Big 5 stamps to see what I can do to add to the Christmas spirit!
Love the challenges so far
Catching up...

I love the kangaroo, Beccy, but even more I love the koala from that set of Christmas animals! I'm working an a "D" card using Merle, the Giraffe, who has also decorated himself with a string of lights, just like the koala. :-D Not sure how soon I'll get it posted since I'm still working my Letter "C" card for tomorrow but hopefully I'll get caught up and be posting on the same day or maybe just the day after the letter comes up. Blame it on getting a late start.

I get a kick out of the sentiment "Merry Christmas, Mate" - love that! Also love the candy canes in his pouch! Lots of D choices but I've already fallen behind.
