Reef Dwellers

The abundance of life on the coral reef has been captured beautifully in these two cards created by Anesha. She has stamped the plant and coral life in the foreground then added the fish in the back, which gives depth and dimension to her reef cards.

Her second card has even more dimension with the addition of a shaker feature. She has filled the window with little blue seed beads that catch the light and sparkle when moved.

Tutorial - The Colourful Reef

A quick and easy way to add lots of colour to your project is to stamp with multiple colours at once. Although you can purchase multi-coloured stamp pads that give awesome rainbow effects, using water-based markers is a little more precise.

Apply the markers directly to the stamp, colouring each area with a different colour. You can get some fabulous results by mixing the colours a little bit or by adding a fine mist of water to the stamp or onto the paper. Experiment with different techniques to see what you come up with.

I ended up with a sheet full of colourful fish and coral, which I fussy cut and loaded onto a double z-fold card for an awesome underwater scene!

CAS Style

Clean and Simple cards are one of my favourite styles and these little guys lend themselves perfectly to nice simple designs. For each card I added a touch of watercolour ink directly onto the base to help ground the images, which have all been fussy cut and popped up with foam tape.

Judy has created these fabulous matching cards with two of the little platypus from the new Limited Edition set of digital stamps. She's used the same paper range to decorate both, which is a great way to unify your projects when creating a set. Some matching twine and buttons finish her cards perfectly.

January Challenge

Create a card or paper-craft project using any Beccy's Place image, upload a photo of it to your blog or other hosted site, and submit a direct link below. The challenge runs from now until midnight on the 31st of January 2022 (AEST).

To keep things interesting, I'll be adding an additional optional element to the monthly challenge. This month, I want you to have a go at creating a fancy fold card. You can use one of the tutorials from this blog, or hit the net for something fun and exciting! As always, keep in mind that the additional challenge is just an optional extra.

PLEASE READ THE CONDITIONS CAREFULLY

BEFORE ENTERING THE CHALLENGE

• Entries that don't meet the conditions will be deleted from the challenge.
• Your project must be created during the month of January 2022 and entered into the challenge during the active challenge period. Due to an automated system, late entries cannot be accepted.
• Each month I will include a re-mastered digital image from my library of freebies as well as a bonus challenge, such as a card sketch, bingo grid, etc. You DO NOT have to use the image or bonus challenge on your project, but you MUST use a Beccy's Place image, either free or purchased, to be eligible for entry.
• You can enter as many times as you like and you can submit your card to any other challenge you wish. 
• At the end of the month three winners will be chosen to receive a $20.00AU store credit for any digital stamps at Beccy's Place. To redeem the store credit, winners must have a Beccy's Place customer account. (Please note, you do not need an account to enter the challenge. It is acceptable to create an account in the event that you win. Accounts can be closed at any time.)
• Store credit won during any Beccy's Place challenge is only redeemable for digital stamps.
• Entries can be uploaded to the challenge from any hosted site including blogs, online galleries, Google photos, etc. If you do not have access to a hosted site, please feel free to email your photos to me and I will add them from the Beccy's Place Guest blog.
