I've been doing some more emboss resist, but this time with a bolder colour palette!

Emboss Resist

Emboss resist is a fun technique for those days when you want to play with colour without too much effort. It involves heat embossing an image onto card stock, usually white, and then sponging coloured ink over the top. The areas that are embossed will resist taking up the colour revealing the stamped image.

Stamping Techniques

There are so many fun and fabulous techniques for stamping, all it takes is a little know how, some tools and a couple of hours to play. The new Eucalyptus clear stamps are great for a range of interesting techniques, some of which I've posted below. I prepared most of these for a demonstration at one of our fabulous local stores, The Crafty Chain.

The two photos above are examples of alcohol lift using inks, Yupo paper and an alcohol lift ink pad.

Applying watercolour markers directly to the stamp.

The four examples above are of stamping into or with paint and texture paste.

Day 17 - Backgrounds

I really enjoyed creating the background for today's card using embossed snowflakes, some blue and green Distress markers and a LOT of water. I started by adding the snowflakes with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder, which is a technique called emboss resist, and then went crazy with my markers, a spritz bottle and a water brush. I kept adding layers of colour until I was happy with the result.

YOUR TURN: Create a background for your card using your favourite technique.
