This week we have two new rag doll images in-store that are perfect for those wonderful girlie cards most of us like to make!  Each order comes with one black and white line drawing as well as a full colour version for quick and easy card making.

Old Mailbox

As you can see, the country theme is continuing with this rustic old mailbox.  I really like this design for masculine cards, but it can be embellished for many other occasions too!

Grandpa's Barn

I live on a small acreage in a semi-rural part of Queensland and although the wildest things around here are our pet guinea pigs, and the most I grow is a few herbs, I really do appreciate the simplicity and functionality of most things on country properties.  In my opinion, the best buildings on farms are old barns!  If you ever get a chance to look inside an authentic barn, do take it.  You'll be amazed at some of the items that are stored in there.

Owl Trio

Here is the beautiful card that Glenda made using the owl image.  Don't you just love the way she has done their eyes?

Viv used a masking technique to create the moon in the background of her card, then she layered the owls for a wonderful 3D effect.

Here is Rachael's card.  She's used lots of distressing and a wonderful mix of colours and textures for her creation.

Tutorial - Centre Step Cards

My good friend Penny taught me how to make these wonderful centre step cards that stand up beautifully for display.  You can make these cards in lots of different shapes and sizes by altering the measurements and fold placements, but I'm going to show you using the same measurements that Penny showed me.

1. Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 12" x 6".  Using the template (above) measure and mark your folding and cutting lines.

2. Use a craft knife or a trimmer to cut along the cut lines.  Score along each of the fold lines.

3. Use the fold guide to fold along all the score lines you made earlier.

4.  All that's left now is the embellishing!  I adhered my main image on the centre panel then added some co-ordinating patterned paper on the two side panels and across the bottom.  Some strips of punched white card, a few adhesive pearls and a sentiment stamp finished it all off.

Heaven Bound

These two little images are available as a set in my online store for just $4.00.  As you can see from all the different cards we created, they really are very versatile and can cover a variety of different occasions.  I originally designed them for use on sympathy cards for pet owners, but as we worked with the images we found that they were useful for all sorts of things.

Vivien created two beautiful sympathy cards
using soft colours are lovely sentiments.

Rachael created this wonderful all occasion card,
perfect for all those dog lovers out there!

Our Guest Designer for May, Glenda, made a gorgeous Thank You
card with the dog image and a condolence card with the little cat.

And I made Christmas Cards!

Here's a hint for these images... add an extra line on either side of the mouth to make these little critters smile, which is what I did on my Christmas cards.

May Challenge

May is the month for celebrating everything about having or being a Mother.  The challenge is to create a card or project using any one of my flower images and embellishing it with your mother's favourite colours.  The card can be for any occasion and can feature any sentiment you wish, not just Mother's Day.
At the end of the month a random winner will be chosen to receive three images of their choice from my online store.  I will also select a Guest Designer for the month of June from amongst those who enter the challenge.  So come join the fun!

April Challenge Winner

Congratulations Annie, you are the winner of the April Challenge!  Please send me an email with your choice of three images from my digital store.

What I didn't tell you all when you entered this challenge is that I will also be looking for guest designers.  That person will be chosen by me based on the card they create, how well they met the challenge requirements, the quality of the photo, etc.  This month I have asked Glenda Atkins to join us as a Guest Designer for May.  Congratulations Glenda!
