Candy Cane Christmas

I coloured the candy cane tree in shades of light grey and red, then teamed it up with some shiny gold cardstock and a red embossed panel. Simple, but festive!

Pudding Easel Card

The idea for an easel card came to me while I was designing this plump round pudding. I ended up using a completely circular card base, after first attempting to cut the same shape as the pudding without considering how the base card would look... it wasn't pretty!

Our Christmas treats from Deanne are these two fantastic cards,
coloured with markers and embellished with glossy accents and sparkly bows!

Triangle Slimline Card

This Christmas Tree image was the perfect shape for creating a long, thin triangle-shaped card. I printed the digital stamp at 14cm high, coloured with alcohol markers, cut a large triangle around it, then added it to a custom card base.

Christmas With Karin

Karin has created two festive cards using the new Christmas Puddings set of digital stamps. She coloured the images with pencil, then combined them with gorgeous Christmas paper and a sprinkling of little stars.

She's well and truly ready for the festive season with these three fantastic creations! For her first card, Karin created the background paper using all the sentiments from the new Christmas Trees set, then added two of the trees over the top. She used the other trees in the set to make a couple more cards to add to her stash!

Just For You

A beautiful, home-made Christmas pudding makes a wonderful gift for family and friends. There are lots of great recipes out there, including some pretty decadent ones that feature dark chocolate, fresh orange juice, and a splash of rum. Although I wasn't fond of this dessert as a child, it's something I've definitely come to appreciate as an adult, particularly when it also involves a hearty helping of custard.

Bright and Cheerful

Sometimes it's nice to get away from the "traditional" Christmas colours and use something a little different, like all the bright shades of the rainbow! I've coloured the stitched tree from the new Christmas Trees set with alcohol markers then added patterns over the top of each section using a white gel pen. I think the effect looks like patchwork.

Christmas With Kathy

Kathy always does a fantastic job of decorating her cards... inside and out! Both of these cards feature fabulous, framed sentiments on the inside that coordinate nicely with the front of the card.

Warm Pudding

When it comes to card making, are you a planner or do you just let the card evolve? I tend to do a bit of both. If I don't have a solid idea of what I want to create, I just add things and see what happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's a lesson...

Christmas With Carla

Carla has created two fantastic cards using both of this month's new digital sets. She printed the images at a very small size to fit into the different sections of the die cut base, then coloured them all with pencils. She added some additional images from other sets to complete each card.

Tutorial - Vertical S-Fold Card

A few months ago, my friend Gloria showed me how to make these fabulous Vertical S-Fold cards, which look great when open for display. They are very easy to make and can be adjusted to any size you wish, plus they fold flat for postage!

1. Start with a 81/4" x 53/4" piece of cardstock, and a 41/8" x 53/4" piece of cardstock.
(NOTE: you can use whatever size card blank you like, plus an extra piece of card that is the same size as the folded card. For example, if your folded card measures 5" x 7", you'll also need a 5" x 7" piece of cardstock for the front panel)

2. Place the large piece of cardstock horizontally on your score board and score at 21/16" and 41/8".
(NOTE: If using a different sized card blank, score it in half, then score the first section in half again)

3. Fold the card in half, then fold the first panel backward along the score line to form an S-fold.

4. Decorate the 41/8" x 53/4" panel as desired. I dry embossed the panel first, then added a double paper frame, a die cut image, sentiment flag, and some embellishments.

5. Secure the panel to the folded section of the card blank using glue or very strong tape.

6. Decorate the inside of the card as desired. This section will be visible when the card is opened for display. Done!
