From The Whole Herd

I  regularly send cards on behalf of our entire household so it's handy to have fun sentiments like the one in the Funny Farm set that reads "To Someone Special from the whole herd". I know our friends and family will get a kick out of it too and no doubt they'll even have opinions on who each character resembles!

Jackie and Friends

The whole herd has arrived at Jackie's place for a fun and quirky photo opportunity!

Jackie created two great cards using the images and sentiment from the new Funny Farm set of digital stamps. She coloured the horse on her first card in soft shades of brown and yellow pencil, which are a great contrast for the pink ears and nose.

Her second card has the whole herd printed twice and shuffled around so that it looks like the entire farm is watching from behind the barn walls. Too cute!!

Born To Be Wild

Anesha is sharing her fun and fabulous cards using the new Funny Farm set of stamps. She has created three cards, each featuring a different image and sentiment from the set. The horse and pig are coloured in traditional colours, but the cow is rocking an awesome purple dye job!

Carla's Funny Farm

Carla has created two fabulous cards using the new Funny Farm set of digital stamps. Her first project is a slimline card featuring all three animals from the set, framed in the old-style polaroid photo surrounds. She's added some foliage and a die cut sentiment to finish her fun card!

The second card has a lift up window that reveals one handsome young pig! Don't you just love the speech bubbles she added?! Carla used wood-look patterned paper on the card front, which makes it look like the pig is looking out through an old barn or pig pen.

Just Add Cheer

I love adding little additions to stamped or printed images so they can be used for occasions other than the original intention. My favourite changes are Christmas related, such as adding a string of colourful lights, some holly, or in this case, a fuzzy Santa hat. It's a wonderful way to create one-of-a-kind projects and an easy way to get more value from your stamps.

I started by colouring the image with markers.

The next step is to sketch the changes you want to make.
Use a nice soft pencil that can be easily erased.

Trace over the pencil with a pen. Take care to choose a pen that
won't react with the medium you're using to colour. Since I'm using
alcohol based markers, I chose a water-based pen.

Colour the hat. I'm not worried that the top of the pig's head is visible
as I'm going to be adding an opaque medium to the "fur" that will
block that part of the image. You could use some paint or even fussy
cut a little piece of white paper to fill that area.

I applied white puff paint and heated with a heat tool for a great 3D look!
As you can see, it has also covered the top of the head and the pen lines.
