The end of August means the end of winter here in Australia, and I, for one, am thrilled that it's almost over! I'm celebrating with a cute "snow angel" card featuring everyone's favourite little elephant.

Year Long Challenge - July

When I was looking for inspiration for this month’s card theme, I discovered an important day I had somehow been completely unaware of - World Chocolate Day! It falls on July 7th and commemorates the introduction of chocolate to Europe in 1550. I would like to reassure everyone that I have spent a significant number of kilojoules appropriately celebrating this momentous occasion.

I’m officially halfway through my year-long challenge to feature this little elephant on a card each month! June’s inspiration is Pride Month — so this card is full of colourful rainbows, love hearts, and a joyful party atmosphere to celebrate diversity, inclusion, love, and community.

The second card in my year-long challenge is inspired by Valentine's Day, which means lots of red and pink, plenty of love hearts, and, perhaps not as commonly, a cute little elephant floating through the clouds with a trunk full of  heart-shaped balloons.

These little elephants are easy to colour and work well for lots of different occasions. I think this guy would be super cute on a baby card, or decorating the cover of a little photo book.

I've been enjoying some of my older designs, including this cute little elephant all dressed up for her ballet class. I've even given her some blue toe nails to match her tutu and head band.

Year Long Challenge - January

This year I've set myself the challenge of creating a card a month using this little elephant image. I'll base each card on events that happen in the month they're created, although not necessarily for that particular occasion. For example, January has New Year's Day, but since I don't actually give away cards for New Year's, I'm just going to use it as inspiration. Can you guess what February will bring?

A Good Day To Be Happy

To create the "confetti" for my happy little elephant, I used markers to add dots around the background then circled each one with a fine line pen. Alternatively, you could use small stamps, patterned paper, or even little hand-drawings to suit the theme you're after.

Big Wishes

After colouring this little cutie with alcohol markers, I fussy cut and popped her up on some pretty patterned papers. To add a bit more interest, I used my piercing tool to create borders around each of the panels.

You Are Unforgettable

A CAS style card from me today, featuring the little sitting elephant from our latest clear set, "Unforgettable". The image was coloured with alcohol markers then fussy cut to leave a narrow white border. The background has been kept simple with an inlaid, embossed circle, a narrow pink frame and a stamped sentiment.
