Sunset At The Beach

There's something extra special about watching the sun set over the ocean - the beautiful colours, the balmy breezes and the smell of salt in the air. I created my evening sky by blending distress inks onto a piece of smooth cardstock, masking the horizon between the sea and the sky. The images are from two different digital stamp sets - Beach Bums and Tree Scapes. Both have been fussy cut and mounted over the inked background.

The Forest At Night

The pine trees from the Tree Scapes set make the perfect foreground for a beautiful night sky. I started by printing the image multiple times at various sizes and orientations to create a forest. After all the colouring was done, I added a little more ground to complete the scene.

Karin's Creations

Karin has created a fabulous side step card featuring the palm trees from the new Tree Scapes digital set. The pretty purple and blue paper she used creates the perfect backdrop for a balmy tropical island. In contrast, her second card is set in a snowy wonderland complete with snowman and towering pine trees.

Tropical Sunset

The Tree Scapes images are perfect for creating beautiful backgrounds with your markers, inks and paints, but you can also print them on patterned paper or coloured card stock for quick and easy cards.

I created a video tutorial explaining how I coloured the sunset and created the little waves using my brush tip markers. Click on the link below to head over to my YouTube channel:
