If you love gatefold cards, then you're going to enjoy this simple, fun twist on an old favourite!
TEMPLATE
1. Place a piece of 10" x 6" cardstock horizontally on your score board and score at 3" and 7". Fold along the score lines to form a basic gatefold card with an overlapping front.
2. Referring to the template above, trim away the corners of the cardstock.
3. Cut some patterned papers to decorate your card. You'll need one 37/8" x 57/8" rectangle for the centre, and four pieces for the side panels. (I found it easiest to use the card base as a template for the side panels. Place the card on top of some patterned paper and trace around the side pieces with a pencil. Trim away a little more to create the border around the edge. Make sure each set of two are mirror images of each other.)
4. Secure the patterned paper to the card base with glue or double sided tape.
5. Decorate your card as desired. I've printed a digital image and sentiment directly onto a piece of patterned paper, then layered that onto a piece of cardstock. I've glued both to the left-hand side of the card front, then added some Nuvo drops and hand-drawn borders to finish.
