Tutorial - Upright Z-Fold Card

These cards are quick and easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. It's simple to alter their size since there are just two folds, and there's plenty of space to add sentiments and embellishments.

1. Place a piece of card stock measuring 111/2" x 4" horizontally on your score board and score at 27/8" and again at 53/4". Fold along both score lines.

2. Trim a second piece of card stock to 5" x 31/2" and secure it in place on the bottom half of the card base so that there is 1/4" border at the bottom and both sides and a 1/2" at the top. See the photo below for correct placement.

3. You'll notice that the card does not stand open on its own, so you need to create a little tab that will hold the front and back piece together. I used a layered piece of card stock stamped with a sentiment and punched into a nice shape. Add some glue along the very top edge of the tab and glue to the back piece of card stock only. The front section should be able to slip under the tab so the card remains upright.

4. Embellish as desired.
