Tutorial - Flap Fold Card

I had a great time making this card and ended up with quite a few in my card basket ready to send to friends and family.  They are relatively easy to make, once you get the hang of where everything is supposed to go, and can be used for just about any occasion.

1.  Start with a piece of card stock measuring 111/2" long by 4" wide.

2.  Lay the card stock horizontally on your score board and score at 21/2" and again at 7".  Fold your card along the score lines, pressing firmly with a bone folder for nice sharp creases.

3.  Use a border punch or die to add a little decorative edge along the top flap of the card fold if desired.
Using either a large circle punch or a circle die, cut a circle directly over the fold between the top and middle sections of the card.  The size of your circle will depend on the size of the image you want to add.  I used a circle die with a 3" diameter.

4.  To decorate, you will need a piece of patterned paper measuring 41/4" high and 33/4" wide, an image or sentiment cut in a circular shape at least 1/4" smaller than the window you cut in step 3, and any other embellishments you wish to use to complete your card - I added a sentiment, some ribbon and some scalloped mats.

5.  Lift the small top flap of the card and adhere the patterned paper to the section underneath.  Apply some adhesive to the back of the bottom half of your circle embellishment and secure it over the edge of the patterned paper.  Try to centre it within the window.

6.  I added a piece of ribbon around the top flap of the card and finished it with a double bow.  My sentiment is added with some foam tape, and doubles as a closure for the card.

7.  Your card is now complete!  Here's what it should look like...

Thank you Beccy!! I made a card for a friend of mine. Sad that I don't have the template cutters. I have to do everything manually, and it took a lot of time. But I loved it.
