Today's homework was to create a one-layer card... which I discovered was much more of a challenge than it seems. I used a deckle rectangle die to emboss the front of the card (without cutting) and then stamped the poinsettia in two colours and added a sentiment. Not muct to it, but it was a lot more difficult than I thought. I actually tossed the first one I made in the bin... with one layer there's no where to hide your mistakes!

Beccy, I feel your pain. I was trying to create a CAS card today and redid the simple panel on it 5 times. I smudged it with ink from my hand, inked the heart and stamped with black instead of red or simply wasn't happy with my placement. Took longer than most of my more involved cards, lol. I hope to be able to join in your challenge this week. Happy Birthday month.
ReplyDeleteOne layer cards are a bit tricky for me too : ) Your card is gorgeous, the embossing gives it a really nice finish.
ReplyDeleteYour card is really gorgeous. I have a lot of difficulty with these, so tend to give them a miss most of the time...maybe I should keep trying. hugs, Ursula
