Day 10 - "I"

There isn't a lot of ice-skating going on in my part of the world at Christmastime, so you're more likely to actually see one filled with pretty poinsettias and decorated with colourful baubles than strapped to a skaters foot!

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "I" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:

  2. So pretty, Beccy. I loved ice-skating when I was younger. When I was 16, my parents allowed me to buy my first and only pair of long track skates at the local shoe shop. I sold them when I was moving from the Netherlands to Greece in 2008. I was so happy that the buyer was a grandfather who was buying them for his 11-year old grandson so that they could go ice-skating together. It made it so much easier to part with my skates.

  3. Gorgeous filled ice-skate and I love your coloring. I think that it will be impossible for anyone to use this skate for real ice-skating. That boot is already filled up.

  4. Beautiful card, Beccy. Brings back memories of learning to ice skate when I was at school. We were giving the option of staying in school for normal physical education lessons or once a week going into town to the local ice rink for a skating lesson. I don’t remember many pupils choosing to stay in school. 🤣 xx

  5. I've never seen a prettier ice skate in all my life! I remember as a kid going ice slating on a pond at a golf course across the street from our house. My brother's used to caddy there during the summer. But all our winter fun was at the gold course: ice skating and sled riding. Thanks for the memories of the fun, cold wintry days of my youth!

  6. BEAUTIFUL card Beccy!

LOVE your poinsettia skates, they look stunning against your pretty background and foil accents!

... I've been ice skating ... ONCE ... I landed flat on my back too many times to try it again, even though it would be nice to have some indoor ice to chill me down a bit on this hot nearly-summer day :)

  8. What a beautiful filled skate you made Beccy! ⛸️

In our part of the world it used to be, but nowadays enthusiasts will have to go to the ice rink... it is also a lot warmer here at Christmas time than it used to be... I think we will also be able to celebrate Christmas in a bathing suit in the future 👙
But luckily a lot is possible in blog land, so today I'm having fun skating on my card...look and enjoy 🥶
