Day 25 - "W"

I often use my water based ink pads as a colouring medium for my stamps by laying some of the ink down on an acrylic block and then picking it up again with a water brush. You can intensify the colour by adding additional layers of ink once the first layer has dried.

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "W" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Wise Men, winter, wreath, workshop, wrapping paper, wonder, waterfall card, window card, watercolour, Wink of Stella, watermarks, wax resist, weaving, white, white on white, white with one.

  1. Beautiful card Beccy. I didn't realize or even think about putting the ink on an acrylic block and then using the water brush to pick it up and color with it. What a goof ball I am. Anyway, I am going to have to try it and see if I can get it to look as good as yours.

  5. Another lovely card Beccy. Anything watercolor just sends me over the edge. Maybe one day I'll get the hang of it. Until then, I'm glad I can enjoy your beautiful work.

  8. WONDERFUL card Beccy!

This is (another) favourite image from your designs and I love the magical feel your delicate watercolouring gives it!

I have to confess, I have proven myself to be a little too heavy-handed with my watercolouring and a more than a little too impatient to wait for the colours to dry between layers ... yes, I know, I need to try harder :)

  9. Totally agree Becky one of the best watercolour mediums, I love it with flowers... or as you've done this beautiful bell, such beautiful subtle tones.
    Great work.
Thanks for all your hard work this month, I don't know how you do it!

  11. I love doing this. No need to buy extra paints. I like the idea of watercolor too because it can be loose and messy and still looks pretty. Thanks for the reminder!

  12. I knew this technique, but I have to practice a lot to get such an effect as you show us. Love the colours you have used. The silver of the bell looks like real silver!

  13. What a beautiful silver bell. The way you explain that you use your water based inks make me think about a painter and aquarels on his canvas. And if you think about it that is exactly what you do, but then on paper. Beautiful colouring. Creative regards, Gina
