Day 23 - "U"

"U" is for uniform, and nobody wears it better than this handsome nutcracker dressed in his Christmas finery. I printed the coloured image onto a piece of kraft cardstock then filled in the white sections with a gel pen to really make them pop! The candy pieces I've used to decorate the card are hand-drawn and coloured with alcohol markers. I have a tutorial HERE for those who might be interested in creating their own.

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "U" as your prompt.

  3. Beautiful card. The nutcracker reminds me of a Christmas shop we visited in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany in the summer. Outside was stood a nutcracker about two metres tall. Unfortunately it was too big to sneak in my suitcase. 😉 xx

  4. Your beautiful and stylish nutcracker looks very handsome. I had never heard of nutcrackers till we went on a holiday to Florida, some ten years ago. Since, I'm nuts about nutcrackers and already have some in my collection. So, it's almost time to get them from my ceiling.
Thanks for the tutorial to draw my own candy pieces. I'll give it a try.

  7. Wonderful nutcracker image! Perfect for the "u" prompt for uniform.
Question.... if I create my "u" card while wearing my underwear, will that count?

  9. Cute card. I love the candy! I don't have prisma colors, but I am going to have to experiment with some other markers or maybe even try colored pencils and blend the colors. I could just pick your candy off the card and pop it into my mouth! Yum! Thank you for the tutorial.

  10. I've neve thought about printing colored image onto kraft paper but I love the result, Beccy! Very impressed with the use of a white pen to enhance the white on his uniform. I have to try this technique. ;-D
