Day 25 - "V"

"V" is for vellum, which I've stamped and heat embossed with a flurry of snowflakes. Although it's hard to see, there's also a little dab of glittery stickles in the centre of each flake for some extra Christmas sparkle.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "V" as your prompt.

  1. This is beautiful with the blue background. I'm beginning to like vellum. At the start vellum and I had quite a tussle but I've learned to work with it.

  2. I love embossing on vellum but it takes a very delicate hand so you don't scorch the vellum. You've done a beautiful job. I love the navy blue color with the embossing! And such lovely corner embellishments. A great cohesive design!

  5. So pretty, Beccy! Your embossed snowflakes are lovely! We had our first snowfall today, and we couldn't believe it! The forecast was just flurries but it ended up snowing all day and accumulating 3-4 inches! It is very pretty seeing the snow on the trees!

  6. I love your card Beccy. Snowflakes remind me of when it snowed when I was young. Every time it snowed more than 3-4 inches my Mom would always make snow ice cream. She would send us kids out to get in the deepest part of the snow and fill up the bowl that she sent out with us. Dad would always say don't get the yellow snow. I would always wonder what that meant so finally I asked my older sister and she told me. I can't believe I didn't know what it meant but I guess as a child you don't realize any of that. I think of those times often now since both of my parent are gone.

  13. Such an elegant card, Beccy! I love the blue and the idea of embossing on vellum. I've never tried heat embossing vellum for fear the heat would make it curl. Now I'm going to try it even if it means putting the finished vellum between front and back frames to flatten it again. :-D
