My inspiration for today's "N" challenge is Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, a phenomenon that I'd love to see in person. Interestingly, there are also southern lights that are visible from New Zealand and southern parts of Australia called the Aurora Australis.
YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "N" as your prompt.

Wow Beccy, this is beautiful. I love how you did the the green lights showing in the background. I have seen this on movies and things like that but you made it look so real in this card. What a wonderful card.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! That shades of green are so elegant!
ReplyDeleteI think we really have to pray for peace on the planet, but we have to start by doing piece in our souls.
That is a great effect you have created there Beccy, perfectly suits the night scene.
ReplyDeleteWe had been due to go on a 2 week cruise to Norway at the end of March this year to see the Northern Lights and fjords and we went into the first lockdown the week before so it got cancelled :(
The end of March is the best chance to see it (if it happens) and the cruise was going to go to the very top of Norway into the Arctic Circle.
Might possibly be able to re-book it for 2022 which seems forever away......
I was lucky enough to see the lights in Norway 3 years ago and they looked just like this.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, love the way you did the night sky. We were very lucky to see the lights last year on our cruise to Norway, was -24 degrees C. :)
ReplyDeleteWow ! That is indeed an amazing play of nature! I would like to see the Northern light myself one day as well! Great how you created your own Northern light on your card, Beccy! Creative regards, Gina
ReplyDeleteStunning card! We've been to Finland in February and Iceland in November and we still have not seen the Northern Lights, despite standing out in the freezing cold for hours staring at the night sky! Hopefully one day we will be able to try again - third time lucky! xx
ReplyDeleteO yes! The northern lights are wonderful! I am a Norwegian. For 15 years now I live in Switzerland.
ReplyDeleteI remember the wonderful winter nights at home, as we stood outside our house, gazing at the fantastic moving of the green and white lights above us. Sometimes it was even red-lilac, and it danced across the sky.
I wish you one day will be able to see it, Beccy. It is just stunning! And your card shows it quite well!
Cheers, Liv
This is really beautiful. My neighbor has been to see the Northern Lights and says they were magnificent. I hope you get to see them some day. I would never have realized the church image was the same in the set. How different it looks in shadow.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! Love the background!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Marilyn❤️
I have seen the Northern Lights on movies and they look spectacular - as does your card. Despite living in New Zealand, I have never seen the Southern Lights either.
ReplyDeleteWow this is so stunning love the night sky would be something you would never forget if you actually saw in real life. Best I got was a shot ting star in the USA in holiday.
ReplyDeleteWhen my kids were little (our youngest was about 4 years old) we had a chance to travel to Alaska and meet up with my in-laws who drove their with their camper. We flew there with our three kids and had a wonderful experience. I don't remember seeing the Northern Lights while we were there since it was the time of the year when it didn't get very dark. But recently, you could see the Northern Lights much closer to home. Your card is so beautiful. I think it's difficult to make a nighttime card. But you really nailed this one!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Would love to see either the northern or southern in person!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Northern Light background. Never heard of the Southern Ligt. So, I'm never too old to learn!!

An amazing phenomenon that I will probably never see. The more I admire it on your card.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and creative card x
ReplyDeleteStunning card Beccy, yes, to see the Northern Lights would be such a beautiful memory, it's still on my bucket list. Hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteStunning Northern Lights, Beccy! I've actually seen them having lived in Alaska for the better part of 2 years when I was much younger. You've captured the shimmer of them perfectly and I love the colors you added. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHi Beccy this is a stunning card. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights a few years ago. That is where our son-in-law proposed to our daughter. It was a truly special trip. Sometimes they can be seen in Scotland. Take care. Hugs Jackie
