It's "D" day today, and for me that means doodling!
I love changing up my stamps, whether traditional or digital, to make them suitable for occasions other than the original design. One of the easiest ways to do that is by adding little hats or items of clothing, such as a bright red Santa hat.
I decided to work with the little mouse from the Odd Bods digital stamp set. He has a nice open space at the top of his head that's perfect to hold a warm and fuzzy Santa hat, which I sketched in with a pencil then lined with a permanent pen. A splash of colour from my Prismacolor pencils and my little mouse is all set for the holidays!
YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "D" as your prompt.

Oh wow now why don't my santa hats come out like that. Awesome image you need draw some odd bods at Christmas
ReplyDeleteHad he been sipping the sherry
DeleteHow cute is that mouse. Don't you just love the word doodling ;) He looks a little "doodled".
ReplyDeleteOh how cute is this guy. I love how you can doodle and it comes out looking adorable. If I started doodling you wouldn't even know what it was even if it was a stick man.
ReplyDeleteToo cute!
ReplyDeleteNow that little mouse is so darn cute, even though he been sipping some Sherry...well done Beccy on adding the Santa hat on him....tfs
ReplyDeleteWoww Beccy I envy your colour skills. You've coloured the cute little mouse perfectly. By adding the hat she has turned into an adorable christmas mouse; love it!!
ReplyDeleteHe is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteCute little Christmas mouse. I'll leave the drawing to you - mine is pretty unrecognisable!
ReplyDeleteOh my oh my I love this mouse - he is sooooo adorable - you are a fabulous artist! Sweet little mouse - on paper and NOT alive in my house - just saying--- love!
ReplyDeleteCutest little wacky odd bods critter EVER! I did manage to finish reading your delightful post before clicking on the link to buy the set... but the link isn’t working and the search engine doesn’t find anything with odd in it. WAHHHHH ! I want my own odd bod critter!
ReplyDeleteMy apologies Donna, it's actually a set that's not due out until next month! I've added a note to the post so other people don't have the same experience.
DeleteCheers,
Beccy
I love the expression on this little guys face! I am trying yo figure out what he swallowed to get that expression. He reminds me of Arthur and Valerie when they try something they haven't eaten before and it's not too their liking. Love the idea od doodling but I don;t have your talent.
ReplyDeleteD is for DELIGHTFUL!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your colouring and cute Santa hat ... I've been wanting to add one to my frogs for a Hoppy Christmas ... been searching for images / cut files ... feeling INSPIRED now and hope to be as successful adding them in as YOU :)
PS - Odd Bods is officially on my wishlist for next month ... when I say Odd Bods, I'm talking digital stamp NOT another drawer of odd bods, one is enough!
I like your little mouse and I think the frame is sufficient wide for his movements!
ReplyDeleteBut your style for organizing the colors for the project is amazing!
Thank you for sharing the idea!
All the best and a lovely day!

ReplyDeleteThis mouse is stunning, I'm jealous of talent. I never get such beautiful photos, even if I paint only. But I don't give up and watch the masters in the hope that one day I will paint a beautiful hat, such a beautiful mouse tail. What a pity that I have to leave for a few days and I don't know if I will be able to make up for this challenge when I return, but I am very excited about this challenge. In the middle of the year I met your blog and waited impatiently for November.
ReplyDeleteI adore your card, love your colouring and what a great idea to turn this in a Christmas card with just a little hat 🤩 greetings Petra
ReplyDeleteAdorable Mouse, There must be something wrong with my Prismacolor Pencils... They don't color near as well as yours do... Amazing coloring as usual Beccy. Love his simple transformation into a Christmas card just by adding a Santa hat. These are my favorite kind of images that can be used for lots of different occasions.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to turn 'ordinary' images into Christmas ones. Love the mouse
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever! Why have I not thought of this before. Have to look through by stamps and see if there are any who would like a makeover.
ReplyDeleteI love this crazy little Odd Bod mouse, Beccy, and wish he was already available! Now you have me panting in anticipation. Love how you added the Santa hat. What a great idea. :-D
ReplyDeleteThis little fella is so cute with his Santa hat - I wish I could draw like that! Funny how I love cute little mice on cards but when they're in my house I freak out!
