Day 22 - "S"

Scraplets, which I've chosen for today's "S" prompt, are fabulous little cards made from the leftovers of A4 sheets of paper. They're a great size for fun little greetings, gift tags or festive giveaways and their small size means they're quick and easy to decorate. I discovered these little cuties during last year's Holiday card challenge and have made many of them since!

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "S" as your prompt.

  2. Such a cute card. I am a hoarder when it come to my scraps. I’m afraid if I use them I might need them later so I end up collecting them and now I have an abundance amount of them.

  3. I have never heard of a scraplet before and took a look at your tutorial and Nancy Soetaert's blog.

They are a cool way of using the leftover strips of card. I would never have thought to make a card out of them.

Your gingerbread is very cute. Thankyou for the inspiration as always.

    1. Hi Donna. I don't think there's an exact size for these cards, it just depends how much left over card stock you have. A4 is about 8.25" wide. I cut my standard square cards to 5.5" leaving a strip that is 2.75" wide, which is what I generally use for my scraplets. The idea is to simply use what's left over rather than wasting it.
      Cheers,
      Beccy

  12. For me 'scraplets' is a new word. And when I checked I discovered something about "transformers" and it was nice, because I never new there are so many!
Thank you Beccy for this new idea. It's perfect these small cards that can be attached to gifts. Or each book with it's own scraplet!
Each day to create a new scraplet is perfect!

  13. I love the idea of using up all of the cardstock and dp as well. I´m way to bad at it. Think it would be a great goal for next year! I also think that S is one of the most versatile letters to work with - and since I´m a crazy santa collector I think I know where this will take me...ho ho ho

  14. Thanks for sharing this idea. I struggle with making tiny cards as well as narrow ones - I can use some practice.

  16. SUPER Scraplet Beccy!
Apart from being SUPER CUTE, it's SUPER CREATIVE too ... I have lots of off-cuts from making card bases and tend to keep them for die cutting sentiments ... it's a great idea to score the whole panel and make dinky sized folded notelets and tags, might even have to use one for a "Tall & Skinny" card, I have a gnome that I would like to colour soon :)
