"J" is for JOY! In my experience, it's not hard to be happy when you've got a good supply of Christmas candy, a heartwarming movie on the television and nowhere to be for a few hours.
Many years ago I wrote a little tutorial on how to create these candies using a circle punch, a pencil and some alcohol markers. Here's a link for those who are interested:
DRAWING CANDY
YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "J" as your prompt.

Love this Beccy, All that yummy white space and of course the candy. I tried your tutorial for the first time last year, and loved it. The candy looks so real... Right now I'm on a low carb path and I am finding it hard not to lick the monitor... hehehe
ReplyDeleteThis comment made me laugh out loud. You definitely will be in the running for the best comment of the day!
DeleteStep away from the monitor... no licking allowed ;)
DeleteThe do look good enough to eat :)
HEHEHE... Checked and there was too much dust.... Probably a good thing...
DeleteJolly J with a Jack Frost
ReplyDeleteYep - J is for Joy. The joy of spending the month of November creating Christmas cards and being challenged in the process.
ReplyDeleteThose candies do look good enough to eat. This is a very joyful month of card making and seeing all of the creative talent and kindness in the world.
ReplyDeleteThis card is awesome. It looks so real. I'm with Dandi93. I'm always on a low carb diet because of my diabetes but my monitor isn't clean enough to lick.
ReplyDeleteGracious, I've gotten behind on things over the weekend but trying to get back on track. What a yummy card! I'm sure it would bring JOY to all those little girls and boys around the world waiting for Santa to appear. I'll definitely check out that tutorial. I need all the help I can get trying to draw anything myself. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose candies are luscious, Beccy! It brings me Joy just looking at them. Think how much better it would be to taste them. :-D I'm off to look at the tutorial (maybe for next year - I already have my "J" card done for this year.)
ReplyDeleteOh Beccy you have done it now woke up in the night thinking what J's and that sone Jingle Bells popped in my head so now I have a ear worm and keep hearing jingle jingle bells jingle all the way. Lol no it is too early for Christmas songs
ReplyDeleteBeccy I have just left my job a the end of October. I had worked there for 8 years and in this last year my part time 3 days a week job has been 5 days and I am exhausted and had no joy in my life.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that you are doing these challenges every day. I love making christmas cards the most as you can use lots of twinkle. Christmas is a season that brings me joy and for the first time this year I have TIME to make cards and find the joy in my life again.
Thankyou for the wonderful comments you leave on each entry, it truly makes my day.
