Christmas in Australia, like other southern hemisphere countries, is celebrated during summer, which means sand, sun and surf rather than snow, ice and hot chocolate. I decided to give one of the little snowmen from the "Snow Angels" set a warm weather make-over, swapping snow for warm, tropical sand.

Yes the month of holiday cards is here again! I haven't had a lot of inspiration lately for making cards, but I am sure I will find some during the next month. Can't wait to see all the beautiful cards that will be made and shown.
ReplyDeleteBeing from the Southern Hemisphere too, I really love this! Love how you altered the sentiment to fit.
ReplyDeleteIt's different to see summery Christmas cards. I was talking to my husband the other night about how you have summer for Christmastime. Being in South Carolina we don't have snow, but I still associate it with Christmas. Originally from Michigan, so I have had snow for Christmas, though.
ReplyDeleteWelcome November!
ReplyDeleteThe best craft Month of the year!
Living in Illinois gets you at least cold weather at Christmas time even if we don’t get snow but I still love your sweet card.
ReplyDeleteFun challenge to get us started on cards! Love your snow angel, I've never thought to add sand!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME sand Angel Beccy!
ReplyDeleteThe sand is such a creative twist and it's SO CUTE that it makes me SMILE :)
I've only seen snow a couple of times and really enjoy making snowman cards, looking forward to adding a special sandy Aussie twist soon!
'Snow' Clever Beccy. While living in Florida this would have been perfect as well. Your Little Sand Angel is adorable and warms the heart
ReplyDeleteI live in poland. It has always been snowing at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, global warming means that there has been no snow for Christmas for several years. I wonder how it would be hot Christmas
He's so sweet as a sand angel. My dearest friend loves the beach and this would be perfect for her.
ReplyDeleteI am super excited to get into the holiday spirit and what better way to do it than participate in your challenge. It's on my calendar every year! Of course we are in winter during the holiday season but I love the idea of snow angels in the sand. I'd be happy to join them to escape the cold and snow. We had snow yesterday on Halloween. It's not unheard of to have snow in October here but it's not the norm. Hoping for warmer weather a little longer. Thanks for the inspiration Beccy! I'm off to create something fun!
ReplyDeleteThat is so hard to imagine, Beccy! It's always so cold here at Christmas time and there's usually snow, so to imagine how lovely and warm it is in your part of the world is mind-boggling! Your sand angel is adorable!
ReplyDeleteToo cute and I love the altered sentiment! :-D
