What a pretty card! I remember the first time I saw real mistletoe. The neighbor kids were walking around selling it. If I remember right, they said someone shot it out of the tree for them. It grows here, but I've only seen it way up high in the trees, so I guess that is how you get it down. For us, we have an artificial one that get hung in the same spot every year.
Congratulations Teresa,
ReplyDeleteLiving in the UK Mistletoe is a common sight at Christmas but some years there is not very much available and it becomes scarce and very expensive.
CONGRATULATIONS Teresa!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY Shopping and Colouring :)
PS - that's a lovely mistletoe story
Congrats Teresa
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Teresa. I have to say when we were kids my brother climbed up a tree to get mistletoe for us kids to sell around the neighborhood at Christmas. Big money! Either 3 or 5 cents a sprig. One day he fell from that tree. He hit several branches on the way down which helped break his fall. A good thing. I ran home, probably 4 blocks to get my mother as he was not moving. Fortunately by the time mama drove there he was awake. She took him to the hospital. No broken bones, nothing. He was fine. No more climbing in the trees that high for us though. I'm surprise we kids never gave mama a heart attack. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a story! I'm sure it gets told every year at Christmas.
DeleteWHOA! SO glad it wasn't any worse. I can't imagine what was going through her mind as she drove there!
