Although not traditionally a Christmas icon, I have it on very good authority that the koalas around my town do enjoy decorating for the holidays. The tricky part is finding a spare outlet to plug in the lights!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card Beccy. Love the shine of the lights and the texture of the fur. The combinaties of cardstock red, black and White is chiq.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Petra
Maybe he carries a battery pack for his Christmas lights. I know I would.
ReplyDeleteOh Beccy this is a gorgeous card. That koala is so cute. I do hope his fur doesn't get singed from the lovely lights. Maybe he needs to find a tree to put them on. Have a great day. Hugs Jackie xxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card. {However, I've heard from relatives in Australia that in real life Koala's are not so cute and cuddly?]
ReplyDeleteThey are cute but not so cuddly ... they have sharp claws
DeleteThey're pretty docile Kathy, but they don't smell the best. And as Tracy said, their claws are sharp.
DeleteBelieve it or not, they actually make a low rumbling grunt during the mating season... it's quite an unsettling sound when you're walking through the bush.
Beccy, you had me chuckling at your response. My hubby heard it and also laughed. Then we had a riveting discussion about whether the rumbling grunt is made by the male or female. I, of course, said the male. Rich, of course, disagreed. [He then said "ouch" when I tossed the nearest object- a roll of tape- at him... I mean... in his direction!]
DeleteKute koala kard :)
ReplyDeleteLove these Aussie theme images & sentiments!
PS - maybe his shiny nose has a hidden solar panel
I love the koala! Yours are so gorgeous all tangled up - just how I kind of fells. He put a big smile on my face - thanks Beccy.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - I can so relate - in one home we did not have enough outlets!! Goodness when you want to plug stuff in for Christmas - you need the Juice you know.... now we have several double outlets on the outside of our home - it can be a shiny bright Christmas outside. As for the Koala - he is sweet! I used him this year too! I am a user like that - hehe
ReplyDeleteAaaawwww, so cute! I like how you coloured those lights - they look like they are glowing! I went with K for Kitty (of course!).
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that koala image with the string of light around him just aan dorable image....I also like the way you made the light glow...well done
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little guy. You could use him on the L card too for "lights". So cute.
ReplyDeleteI think koalas are adorable and they would make perfect Christmas icons if only people chose to use them! After all, penguins in ice and snow are icons yet it's summer where they live when Christmas rolls around. :-D Love the string of lights, Beccy, and you gave me my morning laugh with the comment about finding an outlet. {giggle}
ReplyDeleteOoh how cute is your image your card is gorgeous xx
