Even though you're unlikely to find any ice outside of a freezer or esky around here, I'm still going with "I" for ice skate today. I've only been ice skating once, a very long time ago, and that was enough for me to realise that I am not cut out for slippery surfaces!
YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "I" as your prompt.

oh this card is stunning love the colouring and i did wonder what you would come up with for I - I that is Me
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous card. The embossing matches the image perfectly and I love the color combination. I also love the accent die cut! Although I used to ice skate as a kid I haven't done it in years. What I remember most about ice skating is that it was always very cold. But the hot chocolate that my Mom always made when we came home was always welcome! Fond memories!
ReplyDeleteI am planning to go with I for Ice Skates too! And like you, christmas is in the height of summer so no ice to be seen anywhere! Gorgeous card Beccy - great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, what a great way to use a ice skate for someone like me who doesn't skate, hihihi!
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot. I looked a very long time for an igloo to use on my card and I just couldn't find one. I thought sure I had an igloo. But I had to go with something else. ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, Beccy! And a wonderful embossing too! Love the "icy" touch on the embossed flowers. I think I'll steal that idea.
ReplyDeleteStunning creation - lovely digital too - I used to ice skate a lot with a friend from high school - she was very good at it - I was OK but could not do all the fancy moves she did --- TFS
ReplyDeletewonderful card!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you put a bouquet of flowers at the top of the skates, as you can never use them....beautiful card!

Hi Beccy this is a stunning card that image is so pretty. It is just right for the letter I. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Beccy. You really need to add an iguana to your inventory. An iquana with a Santa hat would have been perfect for this challenge. Hugs, Debi
ReplyDeleteIguana with ice skates and ice cream!
DeleteIrresistible idea for "I"
ReplyDeleteWhen I was skating as a youngster I fell and broke my nose. I never did learn to skate properly after that! I was always too scared of falling. Oh well! The skates on your card are beautiful! I think my old skates are probably better off as a Christmas decor item like the ones on your card.
ReplyDeleteThe most of us don"t skate anymore. With your card when we fall down, break a leg we have a beautiful bouqet of flowers. Your card is stunning.
ReplyDeleteHugs Petra
Beautiful card! Love how the embossed background matches the image XXX
ReplyDeleteHi Beccy, a beautiful card, love the ice skate, I think I is for ice cream pudding, a very nice sweet treat for our Aussie Christmas... have a wonderful weekend at the craft show... Megan
ReplyDeleteDelightful INSPIRATION Beccy!
ReplyDeleteI've only been ice-skating ... oops, I meant ice-falling ... once!
JUST had to get his image, and oh what fun it is to have a challenge like this at Beccy's Place....xxx
ReplyDeleteBeccy, your card is lovely! Living in the midwest of the USofA, I did lots of ice skating during my childhood. Spending time on the ice was fun, but my favorite part was being in the warming house with my friends, drinking hot chocolate and gabbing while sitting with our skates propped up around the barrel furnace waiting for our feet to thaw so that we could go back out for more. I fell often, but back then I could easily get up. After having hip replacement surgery a few years ago, my orthopedic surgeon gave me one simple instruction. "Don't ever fall." When I asked for clarification, i.e. what would happen if I fell, he replied in a very sober voice, "Just don't!" So... I won't!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Love this card a lot. The image is gorgeous and colored to perfection. Love the vintage feel. The die cut and embossing are perfect for this image. Edwina Brown
