I chose one of the pink and green scrap squares for my next card... it's one of my favourite colour combinations so I tend to have a lot of scraps in these colours. I dry embossed the square to give it some texture and help unify all the different patterns and colours of the paper. I then secured it to a soft pink card base and added a piece of ribbon, a stamped die cut shape and some self-adhesive pearls.
Great job on using those scraps, Beccy! This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove this one Beccy. What a wonderful use of those scraps.
ReplyDeleteBoth your 'scrap cards' are really beautiful, Beccy, and such a lovely way to use up all those small pieces of leftovers.
ReplyDeleteI particularly love the simplicity of this pink and green one.

Beautiful card Beccy and hard to believe it started life as scraps! Great idea to use an embossing folder to unify the pieces ... might have to try that one! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful, amazing how simply adding the pearls really lifts the patchwork. Very inspiring. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty...this is a fabulous idea..simple but yet looks elegant too
ReplyDeleteI love your scrap cards and am now a follower so I can see how you use your squares. Just one question - what size squares did you punch?

Hi Kath,
DeleteIf you have a look at the different cards I've done, you'll notice that some of the backgrounds are made up of 5x5 small squares and some are 4x4. The 5x5 backgrounds are made up of 1" squares and the 4x4 are made up of 1 1/4" squares.
Cheers,
Beccy
