Border punches are wonderful tools for card makers. They are easy to use, require no electricity and come in a wide variety of patterns to suit most occasions. Today, I've used a snowflake border punch to make several really simple cards... plus I've kept all the little snowflakes to use as embellishments on other projects!
YOUR TURN: Use a border punch on your Christmas card.

With all our new toys we are neglecting our punches but you have inspired us to get them out again with these elegant cards.

I always forget about using my border punches, I think the get a bit overshadowed by my dies now. I really must try to use them more. Your cards are gorgeous, the designs are beautiful and I love the colours.

ReplyDeleteWOW, what stunning layers of border snowflakes! I've been so sick with a bout of strep throat, I'm way behind on entering cards here but I have a few ready which I'll try to get entered. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully easy idea. Beautifully tied bows. These remind me of gorgeous wrapped packages with wonderful Christmas surprises in them. Thanks for the fun idea. I will definitely be trying this one.

Oh, what a terrific idea!! I have layered punched circles on a card to make a "scale-like" design...never thought to use border punches like this. Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these are gorgeous! Such a lovely effect.

ReplyDeleteSimple and elegant. Will bring out my border punch to make this card. Thanks for the wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - and not just for Christmas cards.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! Great for winter done with the snowflake, but done in pink or blue with another border punch would make a pretty baby card!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Beccy ! I think I have to dive deep in my 'crea' cupboard to find them. It's ages ago I've used a border punch.

Beautiful! Looks almost like lace! I don't have a lot of border punches, a few old Fiskars ones that I bought when I first start stamping about 10 years ago and I always had problems with getting the paper out when I punched. So maybe I need to try them again!
ReplyDeleteThey are fabulous! The borders are delicate and pretty! Love the soft colors too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous idea!!!.....I was just wondering what was the width size of the border strips you made?
ReplyDeleteI usually start out with a wide strip of cardstock... whatever I have on hand. Then I punch along one side and cut that off, plus whatever margin I want for adhesive. I find I waste a lot less this way.
