Just a quick card share from me today. I made this using my Sweetpeas image coloured with distress markers on watercolour paper. I layered it up with pretty purples and some striped patterned paper then added an organza bow.
Beccy, your card is gorgeous and your sweet pea is beautifully colored. This image is on my wish list for sure. Love it and beautifully designed I might add.
I love your sweet pea spray, but could only find it with a banner right across it, which put me off. Sorry, I'd have bought it if it had looked like yours.
Wow Beccy - I'm enamored!!! I have 2 questions to ask of an expert - YOU! - how do you get such perfect die cuts with the fancy dies and how did you do the distress markers on watercolor? Anything special to do there???? Beautiful work!
Hi Linda, Thank you for the lovely comments, you're very kind. As for your questions... To get the best results from your dies, make sure you are using the correct plates in the correct order through your machine. There are lots of different models on the market, so do check specifically for the one you use. If you're having trouble with the actual cut, it helps to send the die through once, then rotate it 90 degrees and send it again. Sometimes you need to add a little shim (an extra piece of paper or card) to get enough pressure to cut cleanly. If you're having trouble getting the card to release from the die, try putting a piece of waxed lunch wrap paper between your cardstock and the die. The wax paper will help it release easier.
Distress markers are water based inks that are designed to blend and bleed in a similar way to water colour paints. You simply stamp or print your image on watercolour paper and then add your colour on top. If you're printing with an ink jet printed you will get bleeding of the image because the ink is water based. I suggest you either print with a laser jet or rubber stamp and emboss the image first.
hI Beccy love this so beautiful in colour and design.xx
