Day 21 - Ribbon

The majority of card makers have vast collections of ribbon in their stash... myself included!  We use it to add beautiful bows, to hold charms and other embellishments, sometimes we stamp sentiments on it or even make little flowers from it.  It's a versatile and relatively inexpensive embellishment that can add a great deal to the overall composition of a card.

YOUR TURN: Raid your ribbon stash and create something beautiful!

  4. Oh, this is so pretty. It reminds me of Scandinavian Christmas decorations, made of woven ribbon or paper strips - my husband's family would use such decorations on their tree. Thanks for the memory!

    1. No, I didn't take any other pictures cardchick, sorry.
To make the weaving I started with a square of card stock that was slightly bigger than the circle window I cut out of my card. I secured the teal ribbons down one side of the cardstock and the red ribbons across the top of the cardstock and then wove them together. They are held in place by double sided tape.
      Cheers,
      Beccy

    1. Hi KT,
Go on YouTube and look up "finger bow". It's a bit tricky to learn but with practice you'll soon get the hang of it.
For the bow on my card, I used the finger bow technique but with two different coloured ribbons.
      Cheers,
      Beccy
