The smell of coloured pencils takes me immediately back to my childhood and the years spent in the classroom sharpening, colouring and drawing with that wonderful collection of beautiful pencils. I used to love the first day of school when all the pencils were still the same height and sharpened to a nice point. By the end of the school year, certain colours were always little more than a nub... in my case, the black pencil... while some of them were almost as long as when you first started.
YOUR TURN: Time to connect with your inner child... stamp an image and colour it with pencils.

Very pretty card that you did
ReplyDeleteHehe... You wanna know a secret..? I never used to do any colouring in as a child! It simply didn't interest me. In actual fact, I've only been doing the whole colouring thing since August of this year! And having loads of fun with it, I might add!
ReplyDeleteLove your card, by the way, great colours. There's something extra lovely about coloured pencils on kraft! x
what a gorgeous stamp and love the way you colored it. I love to color and always have. I too loved as a child when we got to pick out my new school supplies. Loved a clean notebook and fresh pencils.

ReplyDeleteLovely card Beccy, and beautifully coloured
ReplyDeleteI love coloring. Love the way you colored the card!
ReplyDeleteLovely coloring - and I really like the way you made the sentiment stand out.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Beccy! Love the simple layout - creates such an elegant look!
ReplyDeleteI love using coloured pencils - my Prismacolors are my go-to colouring medium. I haven't been colouring on kraft though - you've given me an idea - thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love to use coloured pencils too, is easy and not messy, I always liked to look at all the different colours and try to mix them. Water colored pencil is also nice as they had a special effect on your colouring when mixed with a little water.
ReplyDeleteI love coloring with pencils is a technique very nice, but I have a lot to learn

I adore my Prisma pencils that I got for Christmas last year. It's been a steep learning curve though I can tell you! I used to chew the ends off my pencils when I was a kid, so mine would get noticeably shorter from both ends!!

So sweet, and nothing brings one back in time, than placing a coloured pencil in our hand, and starting to colour .....so relaxing....thanks for the memory!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see colored pencils used on cards. I think they have been somewhat forgotten in the market with all the alcohol markers out there. What a lot of people don't know is that they can be blended using a blending tool. I love the way they look on craft paper! Simple and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyour coloring is beautiful.
