Tutorial - Castle Fold

Castle Fold Cards are nice, simple cut and fold projects that will fit inside a standard business sized envelope.... which is great for those of us who aren't big on making their own envelopes!

1.  Start with a 81/2" x 12" sheet of card stock.  Measuring from the left hand side, mark the card stock at 4" and 8" and rule vertical lines with a pencil.

2.  Measuring from the top, mark the card stock at 21/2" and 6" and rule horizontal lines with a pencil.  You will end up with nine boxes on your card stock.

3.  Use a craft knife and ruler to cut away the top left hand box, the top right hand box and the bottom centre box as shown in the picture below.  Erase the lines that are left.

4.  Lay the card stock on a score board and score at 2", 4", 8" and 10".  Starting from the left hand side, the first score line is a mountain fold, the second is a valley fold, the third is another valley fold and finally a mountain fold.  Your card should resemble the picture below.

5.  And now the best part... decorate it!  I used complimentary pieces of patterned paper, some strips of white card that I cut with an edge punch, some ribbon, diecuts and a sentiment stamp.

NOTE: I started with an A4 sized sheet of card stock and figured the measurements by dividing it into three sections.  I gave you the measurement of 12" to make construction easier.
