Hi All.
Living in Australia I take it for granted that everyone knows about the existence of black swans, which are native to this country. I believe there are also populations in New Zealand and some parts of Europe, although I'm not 100% certain of that. Anyway, I noticed that a few of you were surprised by my choice of colour and I just wanted to show you that where the idea came from.

I grew up in Lakeland, Florida USA and our city bird is the swan. The queen of England gave us many swans as a gift and there is one lake that is full of swans. Many of them are black but there are also black ones with white necks. They are all lovely, but mostly very mean. Your colored image is very nice.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't expecting to hear this info when I came here today, but I'm glad you posted it! I loved how you did your swan, so it really didn't matter if it was realistic or not. Now, I love it even more, and I plan on using these colors on mine. Thanks again for offering all of these wonderful images!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe had black swans when I lived in Scotland They are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHugs Mary.

I ahve left you something on my blog :)

A few years ago we saw a black swan on our river when we were boating. We slowed to have a look and our dog was watching it too. I think it must have had eggs nearby because it came charging at us like it was going to pull our dog to pieces! That was the first and only time I've seen one.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever seen a black swan, this one is a particularly magnificent bird. Nice to know there are so many places they can be seen.
ReplyDeleteLooks just like the 2 a few miles away.
ReplyDeleteThanks you for all your amazing images, they are just BEAUTIFUL
We have them here in the UK too. We have one in one of the parks in my home town.
