New Release: Festive Baubles

Festive Baubles is a clear stamp set containing five image stamps and four mix and match sentiments. The baubles are based on traditional glass ornaments and are simple to colour and fussy cut for all sorts of papercraft projects. The individual baubles come in three sizes and are perfectly symmetrical for projects requiring a "front" and "back".

Carla and Anesha have created some wonderful projects using the new stamps...

What a cute image, I love this card. I can't believe that this challenge is up to 'N' already! I started off with good intentions to make a card for each letter and then my hubby whisked me away on a surprise trip to Iceland to celebrate my birthday and I haven't even started on 'A' yet. I've got a lot of catching up to do! xx

Day 17 - "O"

"O" is for ornaments, the one Christmas decoration in our house that seems to multiply every year. And not only do they multiply, but they end up in places that I don't ever remember storing them.

YOUR TURN: Create a papercraft project using the letter "O" as your prompt.

I think most people don't know how mistletoe grows, Beccy, but I picked it at Christmas time as a child so am well aware of where to find it. :-D I love your card and I'm off to buy the "Tied Up with String" set because I looked through my entire collection of Beccy's Place images trying to find mistletoe when I was getting ready to make my card for today. None there! I'm delighted to have done "Music" instead but I still want the mistletoe (and all the other marvelous goodies in the set!) :-D

Day 16 - "N"

Today I've used a clever technique called no-line colouring that makes your stamped image look more like a drawing. It works with all colouring mediums, including pencils, which is what I used to colour this little guy. For a basic tutorial click HERE - although it focuses on digital stamping, it's the same process for traditional stamps.

YOUR TURN: Create a paper craft project using the letter "N" as your prompt.

INSPIRATION WORDS:
North Pole, noel, nativity, naughty, nice, nutcracker, northern lights, no-line colouring, napkin fold, never ending card, naples yellow, navy, neon

This reminds me of the old question, How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? I think three licks as well and then a need to bite.... Super Cute Beccy

Day 15 - "M"

Mistletoe is one of those iconic plants that spring to mind when I think of Christmas, but I recently realised that I've never actually seen a real piece of mistletoe... I don't even know how it actually grows. Is it a bush, a vine, a shrub?? Needless to say, I immediately googled the answer and was quite surprised by what I discovered. It's well worth having a look.

Debi, I loved your comment. Beccy probably doesn't get threatened with the naughty list very often. Ha.

P.S. Kathy and Debi - you've had me chuckling for the last couple of days!

Day 13 - "K"

Although not traditionally a Christmas icon, I have it on very good authority that the koalas around my town do enjoy decorating for the holidays. The tricky part is finding a spare outlet to plug in the lights!

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "K" as your prompt.

A real wintry card. Like you, we are in the middle of summer for Christmas although the way the weather has been lately you wouldn't think so! I'm thinking of an icy card for my I card.

Day 11 - BINGO GRID

It's a bonus challenge day today and it's one of my personal favourites... a bingo grid!

For those who haven't used a bingo grid before, simply select one line from the grid and make a card that features each of the items specified. Your line can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal depending on what appeals to you. For instance, I used the centre vertical line in the box - digital stamp, pencils or markers, ribbon or lace.

YOUR TURN: Use one line from the bingo grid to create a card.

New Release: Christmas Cardinals

In their bright red finery, these little cardinals are the perfect ambassadors for heralding in the Christmas season. Easy to colour and simple to fussy cut, they are the perfect subjects for quick and festive holiday card making. Mix and match with any of the five sentiments that are included in the set.

Hi Beccy I love this unusual card. I am not really sure if a goose would be looking forward to Christmas. Certainly not over here anyway. He does look cute in his hat though. Take care. Hugs Jackie

Saturday Weekly Winners

It's Saturday again, which means it's time to choose a few more winners. All the fabulous cards and projects make this task more and more difficult each day... there are so many awesome entries again this year, and so many fabulous techniques and ideas that I want to try!

Congratulations
Conny (58)
Dandi93 (136)
Kathy (199)
If you already have a Beccy's Place store account, I'll be adding a $10.00AU credit very soon.
If not, please email me at beccy@beccysplace.com to claim your prize.

Day 10 - "I"

Although Christmas in Australia is hot, I'm still going with an icy cold theme for my card today... mostly because there aren't a lot of "I" words associated with the holidays and also because I enjoy the idea of a white Christmas.

YOUR TURN: Create a paper craft project using the letter "I" as your prompt.
Click on the link below to upload a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Ice, ice skating, icicle, imagination, iridescent, inking, italic, iris folding, indigo, ivory.

This has been keeping me on my toes trying to keep up but I am loving it.

Day 9 - "H"

"H" is for hat... with a grumpy goose to go under it! The image and sentiment are not exactly traditional holiday images, so I thought it was only right to add some non-traditional papers and colours too.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "H" as your prompt.
Click on the link to add a photo of your creation:

Congratulations Donna! I know what you mean. I only used pre-colored images last year, but now I thought why not try to color some myself. They're not perfect but I'm having fun learning. Can't wait to see more of your cards.

On Your Marks...

The next ten people to upload a card to the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge will win a $10.00AU store credit at Beccy's Place. You can upload as many cards or projects as you like, but you can only collect one prize until all ten have been won.

Day 8 - "G"

I love the look of mirror card but find it extremely hard to photograph, plus it seems to show up every fingerprint of every person who has ever been within three feet of it! A good compromise is this wonderful metallic gold card that has a brushed finish. It's still nice and shiny but without the drawbacks of a high, polished shine. And it just so happens to be my "G" word for today... gold.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "G" as your prompt.
Click on the link to upload a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
gifts, garland, gingerbread, green, gold, gamsol, gesso, gap card, gate fold card, gilding, gold leaf, glitter, glass, glossy accents.

If you already have a Beccy's Place store account, I'll be adding a $5.00AU credit very soon.

I've never considered myself an artist really. And I've tended to shy away from challenges that required doodling because I've never liked what happened when I tried. I have difficulty drawing a straight line. I love what you've done and I'm going to give it a try. I've recently started adding some extra doodles with white gel pen and I find that I can do that reasonably. This might be out of my comfort zone but trying it out never hurts. Thanks for the tutorial and the beautiful inspiration!

Day 7 - "F"

It's day seven of our Month of Holiday cards challenge, and who better to herald the Christmas season than a fabulously feathered, holiday-red cardinal?

YOUR TURN: Create a card or papercraft project using the letter "F" as your prompt.
Click on the link to upload a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
Family, father Christmas, Feliz Navidad, feast, fir tree, frankincense, Frosty the snowman, fireplace, fruitcake, festive, fussy cutting, fancy folds, flip flop card, fluorescent, fuchsia, French blue.

Little Birds...

I have a list of secret items that I'll be giving random prizes for this month, and the first of these is little birds. So for every person who has already submitted a card or project with a little bird, you can expect a $10.00AU store credit coming your way soon!

Congratulations to
Viv (14)
Donna R. (25)
Debi B. (32)
Terrie (33)
Suzanne (37)
Dandi93 (39)
Yvonne G. (44)
Greeshma (56)
Dorothy (75)
Swissie (96)
Jackie (100)
Kathy (112)

Don't worry, there are still plenty of other items on my secret list this month... but you won't know what I'm looking for until I announce it! Just so you don't get confused, once an item is announced it gets crossed off the list and no further prizes will be issued for it.

Comment Winner - Day Five

Congratulations Marianne!

Your comment has won you a $5.00AU store credit at Beccy's Place.
If you already have a Beccy's Place store account, I'll be adding a $5.00AU credit very soon.
If not, please email me at beccy@beccysplace.com to claim your prize.

I love non-traditional colours for Christmas as much as the traditional red and green, but I have never tried using autumn colours, so this is going to be an interesting challenge.

Day 6 - "E"

I love to "extend" my favourite images by adding simple additions with a pen and some colour. One of the easiest ways to do this is by drawing a string of Christmas lights, which can be attached to almost any image, and then adding a little bit of colour.
A couple of years ago I put together a tutorial on how to "extend your stamps" with pens, markers and mediums. Here's a link if you'd like to take a look - TUTORIAL.

YOUR TURN: Create a card using the letter "E" as your prompt.
Click on the link to add a photo of your creation:

INSPIRATION WORDS:
elves, eggnog, evergreens, easel cards, exploding cards, embossing, ecru, ebony, embellishments, encaustic, envelopes.

Hi Beccy, a sweet Christmas card and calorie free. I think the closest you or I will get to real snowmen will be a bag of marshmallows. Have a good one.. Megan

Day 4 - "D"

It's day four of our Month of Holiday cards challenge and we're up to the letter "D", which of course, stands for desserts. Saturday Weekly Winners

The very first Saturday of the month has already arrived and that means it's time for our first round of winners. There are already so many fabulous projects that have been entered into the challenge, so it was a difficult choice, but here they are...

Congratulations

Day 3 - "C"

We've hit day 3, which means it's all about everything "C" - candies and calories, cakes and calories, chocolates and even more calories! I decided to steer clear of sweet treats and focus on circles instead... although a coffee and a cookie might just be in my immediate future.
