Old Tree

Free Printable #8
I have included a copy of the tree with the handwritten quote. Originally I had intended to leave the quote with the tree, but the entire picture was a little big for the card design I had in mind.

Inspirational Card

Old Tree
Is there anything lovelier than a grand old tree standing alone in a field of wild flowers on a mild summer day? I have a feeling that I'm going to be using this picture a lot, particularly for masculine cards.
When colouring this design, you will achieve a more realistic look by getting your shadows nice and dark around the foliage and the tree roots. Add some yellow highlights in the topmost branches where the sun would naturally hit the leaves, and don't forget a few subtle patches of red indicating new foliage. Don't worry too much about getting the colour very even, as the watercolour look really adds to the character of the design.

The inscription in this card reads:
The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit. - HENDERSON.

Molly Bear

Free Printable #7
As you can see, Molly is quite a versatile little lady who can be coloured in a variety of ways depending on the occasion you're designing for. I plan to use her again a little closer to Valentine's Day and for a few other "birthday" and "thankyou" cards.

Birthday Card

"Molly"
This time of the year is pretty heavy with birthdays in my family, so I thought it was time to start getting some greeting cards ready. This little lady is called Molly, and as you can see, she is quite partial to strawberry shortcake.

Strawberries

Free Printable #6
Here is the strawberry printable from the previous card. When you are adding colour to this design, remember to get those shadows nice and dark, particularly between the strawberries and the leaves behind. Add some shine to the berries with a white souffle or gel pen, taking care to follow around the shape of the seeds as on a real strawberry.

Strawberry Greeting Card

Strawberries!
I loved how the strawberries looked on the previous card I put together so thought I would sketch out a larger design and mount it on a blank greeting card, ready for any occasion.

Anniversary Card

For My Parents
My parents will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on Friday so I thought I'd whip up a card for them. They still enjoy a little romance in their relationship so the bottle of wine and strawberries remain appropriate even after all these years.
